Our Story and Space
Established in 2018, Hopkins Brewing Company is a collective team of beer enthusiasts, industry professionals and the very best patrons Utah has to offer. Located in the heart of Sugar House, we offer live music, a rotating tap list and an inclusive gathering space. In addition to our continually rotating house brews, we offer locally made spirits, ciders, beers, coffee & kombucha. Our lively, yet humbly inviting atmosphere is the perfect spot for a working day lunch, happy hour beverage or a night out with family & friends.
What is Hopkins?
It all started with a born and raised Sugar House native named Chad Hopkins whose passion for beer, people & hospitality led to the creation of one of Utah’s favorite local watering holes. Chad is a restaurateur of over 20 years and has spent his career working in both Corporate as well as Mom & Pop style Food & Beverage establishments while honing his skills as a hospitality industry leader. His background ranges from behind the scenes line cooking to front of house management and general operations consulting all the while being a homebrewer in his spare time. After winning multiple medals at The Beehive Brewoff, a Utah based homebrew competition, Chad went all in and knew it was time to begin his new journey, his lifelong dream of opening a full scale brewery & restaurant. Thus Hopkins Brewing Co. was born.
Our Beer & Food
We proudly focus on using locally sourced and sustainable ingredients in both the beers we brew and the delicious food offered on our menu. Many of our menu items are made fresh, from scratch, daily. Using items such as cage-free eggs, local grass-fed beef, antibiotic free/free-range chicken and wild-caught never frozen fish. We strive to be a leader in sustainability and to support locally whenever possible. With a weekly Friday Night Fish Fry, vegan and gluten free options available and rotating specials, there is sure to be something for everyone at the table.
When it comes to our award winning beer, we continue the tradition of local first and all natural. Using locally grown and malted grains from Solstice Malt here in Salt Lake City, we take a creative yet consistent approach to our brewing process. Make sure to join us for Small Batch Fridays where we feature uniquely crafted small-batch brews.
